The fishing
The Alphonse Group is the premier saltwater fly fishing destination in the Indian Ocean, renowned for its 10,000 acres of pristine white sand flats. These flats offer excellent wading conditions and world-class fishing opportunities. The fishing season runs year-round, with certain times best suited for experienced anglers. To preserve the area’s natural beauty and maintain conservation efforts, only 12 anglers are permitted to fish the atolls each day.
Famed for its abundant bonefish population, the Alphonse Group also boasts a wide variety of other species, including triggerfish, barracuda, snapper, grouper, Indo-Pacific permit, parrotfish, giant trevally, bluefin trevally, golden trevally, brassy trevally and milkfish. The permit fishing here is considered among the best in the Seychelles, and the milkfish opportunities are regarded as the best in the world.
The offshore waters are equally rich, offering game fishing enthusiasts the chance to target a diverse range of pelagic species. With steep drop-offs and prime structure, the waters attract fish such as sailfish, wahoo, dogtooth tuna, yellowfin tuna, dorado, and even marlin. Whether fishing on the fly or using conventional trawling methods, anglers at Alphonse Island enjoy a variety of fishing experiences throughout their stay.
The Alphonse Group offers an unparalleled fishing experience, combining expert guidance with exceptional fishing opportunities, ensuring a once-in-a-lifetime trip filled with unforgettable memories.
